Well said! Point especially made when you write: "Guys, that isn’t debate. That is manipulation."
Or as I see it: MAN-ipulation that is very close to MAN-splaining which every woman over the age of 5 has likely experienced whether fully aware of it or not. And YES! as soon as I feel some MAN-splanation heading my way, I duck out. At my age and experience, one can sense it coming whether it be by body language, a facial expression, a tone of voice, or a couple of carefully chosen words. ❤️🇨🇦
Someone else in an article I read said we are in a plague of confident stupidity. And no amount of data can pierce through it because some people are too stupid to realize how ignorant they are. Intelligent people realize that they don’t know everything and will seek out answers in a variety of ways, not scrolling on their phone while sitting on the toilet!
I had made a point, a very good one I might add, and what was obviously a male responded by calling me out as “Poohbear” obviously a slur using my last name - as though I was stupid, didn’t get it, or whatever. I responded back with “my IQ is 144 - still want to debate me?”
I loved the second half of this article. Its spot on and unfortunately describes so many of my online conversations/disagreements with conversatives. Comment on some misinformation with facts and recieve threats, insults and if you're lucky a counterarguement, which in my experience is often littered with just as many, if not more, misinformation than the first comment.
I can only imagine how annoying and frustrating this would be when misogyny is thrown in the mix. Keep fighting the goid fight, Cath.
I’m a firm believer that music is the best resource! Thank you! I didn’t want it to come off as a man hater. I am not one… but it does sure get frustrating! Thanks for recognizing it and learning. We are all learning one way or the other. You are a YOUNG 70… and I admire you!!
I am fortunate to have a fantastic partner and a 19 yr old daughter and kind of point out when my male privilege is showing. Also, my mother was the first woman on the block to drive, and the first to work outside the home. Fortunate to have been raised by a woman who took very little guff.

That is sooooo dead on. I will be 54 soon... and I mean to tell you, I can sniff it a mile away. 🤦♀️
